2024 was such a wonderful year for us—a year filled with sweetness and unforgettable memories. The most beautiful gift of all, our girl Alba, arrived and made us a family of five!
Every year, I like to reflect on the year that was by sharing a little roundup on my blog, along with our family photos taken at this special time of year. These photos bring me so much joy and serve as a beautiful reminder of all that we’ve experienced. I’m incredibly proud of my little family.
Even with a newborn in tow and plans to slow down, we still managed to pack so much into the year. One highlight was the most epic surprise getaway I organised for Jake to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary at Drover’s Lookout. If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know how much our family loves glamping—Jake gets his camping and nature fix, while I get a touch of luxury. It’s the perfect balance! We’re always on the lookout for family-friendly glamping spots here in New Zealand, and this one was ideal for families or groups of friends.
Another highlight was our beautiful Babymoon and Baby Sprinkle celebrations at The Shearers Shed through Canopy Escapes. This converted wool-shed is rustic, stylish, and perfect for families or friends. And speaking of friends, we decided Babymoons aren’t just for couples! Our dear friends Rachel and Sam, along with our goddaughter Lily, joined us for this special occasion. For our Baby Sprinkle, we hosted the ultimate picnic, styled by Bohemian Nights—Wairarapa’s go-to for luxury picnics. Having previously enjoyed one of their stunning setups for my birthday, we knew it would be perfect for this intimate celebration.
As we eagerly awaited Alba’s arrival, I continued my tradition of writing a letter to each of my children while pregnant. I shared A Letter to My Second Daughter on my blog—a keepsake I hope she’ll cherish one day when she’s older and reads it.
Then, the moment we had been waiting for: our family of five was complete. I shared our new family photos, beautifully captured by Nika Photography, alongside my birth story.
Despite our busy year, we also managed a family holiday to celebrate Arlo and Belle’s birthdays. For us, experiences are far more valuable than presents, and this year we decided on a getaway to Wellington—the coolest little capital in the world. We love spending time together as a family, and I enjoyed documenting our adventures, from family-friendly accommodation to activities and eateries, to share with you all.
I’m deeply grateful for everything 2024 brought us, and I can’t wait to share more memories and adventures with you in 2025. Here’s to another amazing year ahead!
