Yearly recap: 2022 Happy New Year!

Finally getting around to doing our yearly recap! I love to look back on all our adventures and I’m always so surprised at how much we actually fit into one year.

We also use this time of year to do some family photos. This year we headed down to one of our favourite spots here in the Wairarapa, Uruti Point which is nestled in the Wairarapa coastline and only a short drive from Riversdale beach. It also makes the perfect backdrop for family photos. During Summer, you can find us here a lot, swimming or having a picnic or having lunch at our local favourite and recently opened Homewood Storeroom Cafe.

It will come as no surprise that the best thing that happened to us in 2022 is adding Belle to our family. I’m so excited for all the new memories we’ll create together as a family of four in 2023. I shared our Announcement along with some other blog posts including, our Gender Reveal, Babymoon, my very own Postpartum Care Cart, what I packed in my Hospital Bag, Our Baby Sprinkle celebration and a Letter to my Daughter.

We also managed to fit in quite a bit of travel this year. The borders finally opened again after Covid, and we went over to enjoy the sunshine in the Gold Coast and Noosa. It was our first international trip as a family of four. We also got to spend time with Jake’s sister Tez and her fiancé John. We stayed, ate and did some amazing things with family and friends on this trip.

We also did an incredible campervan trip around the top of the North Island which included Northland, the Coromandel and the Bay of Islands. We loved this trip so much and we can’t wait to do another campervan trip again but next time it will be as a family of four! This was the perfect family friendly babymoon and I'm so glad we got to enjoy this time together. We both enjoyed spending this pre-baby bonding time especially with Arlo before adopting his role of new big brother!

Yip, we did all that in a year!! Just crazy!
