Desert Glamping in Morocco

I am constantly looking for unique travel experiences. While researching things that I wanted to do in Morocco I came across Scarabeo Camp which offer’s glamping in the middle of the Moroccan desert! There was no hesitation when it came to booking this! We had spent the first part of our trip in the busy and hustling Marrakech. However after being collected by our private transfer an hour out from Marrakech we found ourselves in our own private little oasis. Spending the night glamping, was one of the most luxurious experiences I have ever had while travelling.

The camp is home to a collection of canvas tents, scattered in the dessert with jaw dropping views of the Atlas mountains. We received a lovely welcome, with tea and Moroccan sweets before we explored our surroundings. Our tent was beautifully designed with traditional Moroccan cushions and woven floor mats along with travel artifacts. Each tent is individually furnished and lovingly set up in its own unique style.

After our exploring and settling in we were then treated to a wonderful Moroccan styled lunch which we enjoyed under canvas over looking the camp.

In the distance we could see two new friends making their way over to us.....

Meet Aisha and Katina

There is a number of activities that are available to guests to enjoy. The extensive list includes yoga, massages, dune buggy tours along with one thing in particular that I was looking forward to doing…. A camel back ride! I was a little bit nervous to begin with because I wasn't too sure how comfortable it would be riding pregnant but actually felt like a nice bean bag once I got on and the swaying was actually really relaxing. I felt completely safe and was doubly assured by our tour guide that I was in safe hands. There we were, in the middle of the Agafay desert riding camels. So surreal!

It was time to say goodbye to our new friends. We loved our camel riding experience! Jake was also super proud of how confident I was with them.

That evening, the sun started to dip and the sky turned into beautiful colours of amber. The camp was lit up with lanterns and candles. We had staff come in and light up the fire place inside out tent where we retired to and edited some photos on the laptop before freshening up in our own private bathroom before dinner. Yes you heard right our tent even had a bathroom! Shortly after, we were summoned to a beautiful candle-lit supper where we were treated to an array of Moroccan delicacies.

We had our fingers crossed for a star filled sky that evening as Jake wanted to do some night time photography. However we were not in luck as it was too cloudy but, the sound of the rain hitting the canvas definitely made up for the lack of stars.

Waking up in the middle of the desert is really one of those ‘pinch me’ moments. I woke up to the tent glowing in the morning light and got up to unzip the tent to find the most beautiful misty desert sunrise.

The one thing I enjoyed most about our stay at Scarebeo Camp was there was no pressure to do anything at all, just to sit back, relax and be waited on. This is also the ultimate digital detox with no wifi. The two days that we spent out in the desert were probably the most beautiful and peaceful days I have ever experienced.

I brought this cute striped off the shoulder dress just before our trip from Zara. I've been trying to buy things that are bump friendly but that I could still wear afterwards. This dress was the perfect find and ticked all my boxes.

Just before it was time to depart it started to rain, I couldn't leave without doing a few twirls in the rain.

We were transported to our next destination in style in a jeep wrangler.....Jake is a huge 4WD fan so was in his element. I actually think I managed to get some major wifey points with this trip as he loves to camp and I got my touch of luxury with a compromise of glamping, a win-win if you ask me!

Scarabeo Camp certainly deserves a spot on your bucket list! It was the perfect location for us to include in our babymoon. It was absolute bliss and a much needed detox from a busy world!
