Kong ~ Paris

As many of you know, if you’ve been reading this blog for a while I absolutely love Paris. The head over heels kinda love! I've found so many great places on my excursions to Paris, that I had to do a full post of my favourite Parisian localities. You can reminisce with me here.

On our most recent trip to Paris I found another location that I've been dying to share with you all! Perhaps one of the most beautiful restaurants in Paris! You may have seen a few recent Instagram posts that I've shared lately. I feel like every time we visit Paris we always find somewhere new!

Situated on the 6th floor between Samaritaie and Louis Vuitton, you will find an amazing glass domed rooftop restaurant called Kong overlooking Paris.

If you’re a true Sex And The City fan then you may recognise this restaurant.  Carrie moved to Paris and had lunch with Alexander’s ex-wife...ringing any bells yet?  Well, I decided when in Paris one must relive the Carrie-Paris moments.  I mean if it's good enough for Carrie Bradshaw it's good enough for me!

This place is hugely popular so bookings are essential.  I made a reservation well in advance at the earliest lunch time slot available as I knew this place was going to be amazing to photograph.  I also wanted to make the most of the photo opportunity with as few people there as possible.  My plan was successful and we pretty much had the place to ourselves when we arrived.  We even got a seat right next to the window!

Having already had a big breakfast, we weren't that hungry when we arrived but after one look at the menu everything sounded so delicious.  All of a sudden we were hungry again!  The food is “nouvelle cuisine” where you are tempted with a blend of French and Japanese fare.  We ordered the Kong Plate.  Perfect when you want to try a little bit of everything.  It consisted of beef and prawn dim sums, chicken satay, black king fish, peking duck rolls, carpaccio of tuna and truffled tarama.  The food was gastro heaven!  Yes, it's on the pricey side and you wouldn't be going for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, but it's a real treat and definitely worth it!

After lunch we headed down to take a stroll past the Eiffel Tower. The sky may have been grey but the beautiful spring blooms made up for it!
