Ahhh Paree! It’s no secret that Paris captured my heart 4 years ago. Being able to visit my favourite city in the world, Paris for a second time was absolutely amazing! I love how easy it is to pop over to Paris from London, this will defiantly not be our last trip thats for sure!
Here is a little post on what we got up to while we were in Paris! Hello Summer!! We arrived to 30 degrees heat so headed straight to one of our favourite parks in Paris, Jardin de Tuileries it is Pari's most visited gardens thanks to it's central location between the Louvre and Place de la Concorde. Our apartment was directly over the road from this Park, so it had many visits from us while we were there. First stop gelato!
We decided to go for a afternoon stroll down the Seine River which flows through the heart of the city and headed down towards the Latin Quater. The perfect area with lots of small bars and restaurants, to try traditional french cuisine.
We were up bright and early the next morning after strolling through the park and doing a quick "Look Book" we decided to head to Merci, The Used Book Cafe. This has to be one of the cutest cafe's in Paris, the perfect spot for a cup of coffee, brunch or a quick lunch. You can also take the time to choose a book from the 10,000 books in the library to bury your nose in as you eat. I had the soldiers and eggs which always reminds me of my childhood, while Jake decided on yummy scones with French butter.
Next stop was macaroons! According to Vogue, Pierre Herme is "The Picasso of Pastry" so we had to make a stop there and try the best Macarons in Paris. I am a die hard macaroon lover and I have to say these are the best I have ever tasted!
The next day I finally convinced Jake to to head down to the "lovers bridge" across the river Seine. It's quite romantic really, thinking of how many people in love have visited and put a lock to confirm their feelings for one another, and now half way down to the left you can find J&J 2015!
We made our way over to Musee d'Orsay this museum is home of masterpieces by artist such as, Monet, Manet, Degas and Van Gogh. It also has a beautiful iconic clock which is a must do Instagram photo!
You can also head out onto the balcony for awesome panoramic views, you can even see Basilica of Sacre Coeur!
After working up an appetite we headed to Angelina, home to Paris's most lip-smackingky scrumptious desserts! I'm not going to lie we loved this place so much it had two visit's from us while we were in Paris. I loved their Melange Angelina tea so much I even brought a tin of it to take home with me. Its a China Oolong tea with exotic fruit flavours, pineapple pieces, marigold and carthamus petals. Don't even get me started on the cakes.....there are not enough words to describe this deliciousness.
Instead of heading to one of the thousands of tacky souvenir shops, I would totally recommend this super cute cafe called Le Petit Flottes that has the most gorgeous little shop perfect for souvenirs and gifts. We stopped in for breakfast the next day to try the traditional crepes which France is famous for and also picked up this cute Paris mug which is the perfect thing for me to drink my tea I brought from Angelina's.
The sun was shinning so we decided to head to my other favourite park in Paris, Jardin de Luxembourg. We found a seat by the fountain and bathed in the sun just like the Parisians do. We watched the kids sailing their little boats in the fountain and it wasn't long before I was up there with them!
After sailing the small sail boats around the fountain. We decided to head over to the Eiffel Tower and picked up a french baguette on the way. We found a little spot in the shade and had a picnic.
On our last day in Paris we ended our trip by feeling like the King and Queen of France. We booked a tour of The Palace of Versailles and had skip-the-line entrance with our tour guide, which I would totally recommend if you have a Hubby like mine that hates waiting in queues. I've been dying to go to the Versailles! The pictures just don't to it justice, standing there surrounded by the beauty and splendour that is Versailles is incomparable!
Paris is one of those places for me - I fall in love with it over and over again every time we go. This was also a special trip as by now most of you will have seen on my social media channels we did our first wedding anniversary photos with the lovely and talented Candy Capco.
I cant wait to share with you all soon!
