I hope every mama out there is having a wonderful Mother’s Day. My boys treated me to a special mother's day photo shoot last week to celebrate my very first Mothers Day. We got together with Jenny Siaosi who managed to capture my little family perfectly. It was the perfect gift as I love doing photoshoots because its those little moments, those little grins, those little hands, they are not this little forever and a photograph can take you back to that exact moment and make you relive that memory all over again. I will alway cherish these photos and always remember my very first mothers day. I’m not even a year into my motherhood journey and it’s already the hardest, messiest, most exhausting thing I’ve ever done. Yet at the same time, it’s the most enjoyable, rewarding and satisfying thing I’ve ever done in my life. Arlo changed my world in the best way possible. It’s like I’m doing what I’ve always been meant to do. The joy I feel being a mother, and being this boy’s mother, is indescribable. I love the way he’s eyes light up when he sees me and his giggles are the best sound in the world!
I know not every day is easy, but I'll let you in on a little secret of mine. It wont always be like this. One day will be the last time he will want to be carried around by you. The last time he will need you to comfort him in the middle of the night, the last time he falls asleep in your arms. It wont be like this forever so next time your little one grizzles to be pick up for the 100th time that day, before rolling your eyes think about this and I promise you will will swoop them up and hold them that little bit tighter, breath them in that little bit deeper, because who knows quickly this sweet littleness will last.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas, single mamas, expecting mamas, angel mamas and fur mamas. And for all those of you wanting to be mothers.
